The Irish Festival

On Labor Day we decided to go to an Irish Festival. Macy wanted to be really fancy for the festival, so I pulled out one of my old dance costumes. I had to roll up the waistband 4 times. . . and then it fit perfectly! She was so excited.

We were at the Festival for 10 minutes and she got stung by a wasp. We spent the next 10 minutes trying to find a first aid station for some benedryl and an ice pack. No luck. We spent the next 20 minutes at the nearby firestation. They couldn't help us either, unless we wanted to be transported to the hospital. We spent another 10 minutes trying to find Tyler and Ollie, then packed up and came home. . . on the way stopping by the store for some benedryl.

So much for the Irish Festival. And now Macy is deathly afraid of bees.

Camping

Macy had so much fun camping. It was one of her summer highlights. It was probably so fun becuase she got to eat two of her favorite foods. . . cheetos and marshmallows. She also had fun hiking, although she didn't want to at first because she thought there were monsters in the forest. I gave her a whistle and told her it was a monster whistle. I told her the monsters couldn't come near if she was blowing it. That helped a little. Her current favorite book is Fancy Nancy: Poison Ivy Expert. Probably because I was so paranoid about any of us touching posion ivy the whole time.

When Ollie is ready for a big boy bed, I want to make a pallet bed for him. I saw these two examples recently. Sweet and simple

Goin' Campin'

For Valentine's Day, we decided to go camping in our living room. Macy had a lot of fun putting up the tent, building a fire pit out of Lego's, finding sticks outside and lighting our "fire" with a flashlight. Dinner was hot dogs roasted over the gas stove, with roasted marshmallows for dessert.
